THINGS TO SEE


Turtle Watching:
Five species of turtles nest along the beaches of Masirah at different times of the year: green turtles, loggerhead turtles, hawksbill turtles, olive ridley turtles, and leatherback turtles. Green turtles can be seen at night throughout the year.


Hilf Village:
Located on the northern side of Masirah Island, Hilf is one of the top destinations for nature lovers. It can be reached by ferry from Shannah, and the village also offers a number of restaurants and other facilities.


Jebel Al Hammar:
Offering stunning views over the island, this mountain rises to about 274 meters, making it the highest point on Masirah Island. Reaching the summit takes approximately half an hour.


Safayij Cemetery:
Dating back around 300 years, this cemetery is known for its unique design and distinctive gravestones spread across a hill. It is believed that two stones on a grave indicate a man, while three stones signify a woman.
